Thank God For Tivo -- Television Season-Ending Depression| Main

This Week In Tivo --
Sopranos, The Office, 24, Heroes and more

Sopranos

Memorial Weekend means a weekend without Television. It is also a warning television takes a dirtnap over the Summer. And I'm not sure that's a good thing. Fortunately, the Sopranos are heating up to a hopefully explosive finale. According to Steven Van Zandt who was on the Howard Stern show this week, expect a lot of action coming up in the next few weeks.

Heroes

Speaking of action, there are a few people (myself included) that thought the final battle scene between Sylar and Peter didn't have enough action. Yes we got to see Hiro come and save the day... and Niki/Jessica wield a parking meter (I hate those too)... And of course the heartwarming moment when Shaft tells Peter how love will save the world. And oh yeah... the moment when Nathan comes to save Peter from blowing up the world. That was fun. Can't wait for next season. WARNING: Spoilers.

24

There were a lot of folks who didn't enjoy Jack Bauer's 6th horrible day. I enjoyed it. If it was predictable well I say, every tv show or movie has been predictable. Hey guess what the Rebels blow up the Death Star... TWICE... James Bond is going to get the bad guy. It happens. I will say the end when Jack looks off the cliff with gun in hand. I really thought he was going to take his own life. But then "Killing Jack Bauer doesn't make him dead. It just makes him angry."

The Office

On to The Office finale. First of all, Jan's boob job. I mean come on, that was fantastic. Watching Steve Carrell's smile when he sees the um, "work" was fantastic. "I want to squeeze them." Even though there seemed to be too much Pam "confessionals" it set up the final moments of the show when Jim asks her out on a date. Jenna Fischer's reaction was Emmy worthy. But nothing spells classic than the finding out what the ratio of Stanley Nickels to SchruteBucks are. NOTHING.

Veronica Mars

Watching this show end, was a travesty. What could I have done better. Should I have not watched the show on Tivo and CWTv.com??? Probably. Oh Kristen Bell I hope you don't hate me.

This Summer

So what are we supposed to watch this summer? Well HBO has a show called Flight of the Conchord [Watch the First Episode Here] that looks promising. Rescue Me is returning. And so is Entourage. Wait a minute isn't it still on!?! Yes but a new season starts right away. Can't beat that.

This Fall

What to look forward to in the fall? May be this? How can you beat Billy Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, and Peter Krause.

And what shows on DVD will I be watching this summer? The Riches? I've watched the first 2 episodes, I'm not quite hooked, but I need a 3rd to get me. (I was able to download the first 3 episodes of The Riches from Amazon.com Unbox. See link below!) Season 3 from Battlestar Galactica is sitting mostly on my Tivo that I need to clear up.

Well, TV Depression is on its way. But I think I'll survive. As long as the Phillies don't kill me.

You wait 8 months for a podcast. And you get this??? An hour and 19 minutes of Mike complaining about Cliff Lee and Roy Halladay? At least there's a new introduction. Also: Top Sports Inventions, Top 10 quotes of the Year.
